Beamish:

听We’re hosting two Quiet Santa Sessions in a sensory-friendly grotto, for people with additional needs. One was last week, and the final session will take place on Saturday, 21st December 2024 and cost 拢8 per child (subject to availability).

Father Christmas will be welcoming children to his sensory-friendly grotto at the 1820s Pockerley Waggonway. These sessions are aimed at people with additional needs who may prefer to meet Father Christmas away from his busier grotto at Rowley Station.

听Over the last few weeks, I have shared lots of Christmas linked activities. I can see that some have attended and enjoyed them. Do share reviews for the benefit of other families. If you know of anything other families might enjoy please pass it on for me to share more widely.

A lot of places will take holidays at this time of year, including Tim Lamb Centre, Alan Shearer Centre, so check before you plan a trip.

Thanks to everyone who supported FoPHS this term. We are delighted to have had such a good response to requests for help from parents. The grotto looked far better than if it had been left to me. Gift wrapping was fun this year, with just me, a parent and Catherine from the office. I would also like to extend thanks to the office staff who have helped with all manner of things, and most have joined the 100 club too! To the parents who helped at the fayre in my absence, huge thanks as without your help FoPHS wouldn鈥檛 have had a stall.

The raffle was a joint venture with the Enterprise group, and we agreed to share the proceeds of the raffle. Many of the prizes were provided by families. We raised 拢205 for FoPHS.

We had a 鈥済uess the number of sweets in the jar鈥� a lucky dip which raised 拢35.

Asda cashpot.

We鈥檙e delighted to have been part of Asda鈥檚 Cashpot for Schools and wanted to share some next steps with you all.

As a reminder, Cashpot for Schools has now finished – both the fundraising campaign and PTA, parent council and school registration with Parentkind.

Parentkind will distribute funds to all schools that completed their registration in time in the spring 2025 term.

Please note that as we are distributing almost 拢5.8million to more than 17,000 schools, payments will be staggered across this period. We have committed to completing all payments by the end of March 2025.
